I visited newcastle with my family twice in the early 90's.

The only thing I remember from both visits is sitting on my ass watching the R32 GT-R's shit on every other car in the pouring rain.

I think Yanks still call Nissans just like that commentator did, 'Niss-ann(e)' (anne as in the name). If not all Yanks, possibly most. I'll still fall back on my favourite saying 'stupid Americans.' Apologies in advance to all Yanks on these forums :P

haha, thats so funny, budge is picking on the way the commentator says nissan but thats how he says nissan himself, although he puts a bit more of a geelong niece-anne twist on it.

on pimp my ride xzibit pronounced it "Knee Sarrn", it sounded retarded, lol.

In this, Niss. An. Not as, but still retarded.

I like most pronounce it quick, fluent Nissan. Wlel, maybe more like "Nissen". You know. The non retarded way. That or "Bloody datsun"

Lol Niece-Anne

Controversial comment here, but the best thing that happened to touring car racing in Oz was ditching the International Group A rules and going with a Ford v Holden arrangement.

A third manufacturer would be good now though, but I have no hesitation in saying that if we still raced under Group A specs no one would give two fu*ks about the sport apart from the hardcore supporters.

Still a heap of respect for the R32, especially when it was penalised weight and had boost limiting applied......although in that video it looks like it rounds up a Sierra, not a V8 Falcon/Comodore.
TeamManSnag

Homer!  What have you done to the car?  I don't think it had broken axles before.

Before!  Before!  You're living in the past, Marge.  Quit living in the past.

What, I never said I didn't like it asshat! :P

At least I don't think I did... but if I did, then I'm the asshat.

I kind of agree. its a totally different sport that is keeping the australian companies in business.
as far as saying everyone would be driving skylines... they were alot more expensive than a HDT commodore at the time... I think in the area of 30 grand more (thanks brand new)

leave the skylines to targa I say... mmm... that would be fun *dreams*
