Standard front were a 4x7" i'm pretty sure, can't remember actual sizing but they were oblong not round

no hassles fitting the new ones though just make up some MDF spacers to suit

really? i asked a few people and the general consensus was that theyre one of the better budget brands?

i figured $100 for 6.5 components they wouldnt be in the same league as some nice alpines or similar... but was still hoping they would sound reasonably good.

im not aiming for a comp setup or anything, just a very budget setup, with the ability to crank a bit when i want it to.

Fusion are pretty good.............IMO

Just comes down to taste, they are a little bit tinny with the treble though.  Just drop the top end back a bit.

you need  to spend big cash on fusion to get the good stuff.. i put some ~$160 fusions splits in my front doors and i'm very dissapointed with them.. but then i was installing them to replace some very nice mb quart speakers that got damaged in rain.

also, you're not a noob anymore, you should be posting in the correct location mate.. no one will flame you if you ask audio questions in the audio section of the forums..

lol, im picking most speakers would sound average after having mb quarts in there... i cant believe how expensive a good set of components can be though, ive bought cars that cost less than a decent set lol.

point taken on the posting in the correct section too, i hadnt even thought about what section i was posting in :-[

haha yeh some cost a lot of cash. i cant remember what my mb's cost, i just remember i was on a very tight budget when i was replacing them. i could very happily run the mb's without a sub, in fact i did before i got my current sub.. not super bassy, they just had nice all round bass for what they were, my sub hides how shit the cheap fusions are. i'm not sure if fusion's powerplant range is still as good as it used to be, but anything powerplant was the bees knees probably 5-10yrs ago.. but they needed big powerful amps to reach their full potential.
