thermostate & temp gauge & temp sensor
« on: Jul 8, 2010, 05:27PM »
:) hi all...
just wanting to check a few things out with these parts...
thermostate
temp gauge sender
temp sensor

now i dont know the origina part numbers or any cross references ones..so if you know let me know
i got quoted today..a thermostate $45.00 standard flow
i got quoted $25 for temp gauge the single wire
i got quoted $70 for sensor ..the 2 wire.

now if anyone will know that all these are linked to enrichment fuel mix...

themostate has to only open when heat is right..and close to regain that heat set.
thus at the right heat set of water in radiator....
the sensor will tell cpu which tells the enrichment of fuel
the temp gauge is so we know when it gets to running temp...
ideal in the temp between the 2 marks...
below it no fans...
above it fans on...

i think i got to say there 2 other parts connected ..1 in the o2 sensor in the exhaust to cross check the mix out in cpu

air flow meter to check the temp of air for mixing with fuel...

Ok i done a simple test on the pintara , which was overfueling..running in enriched mode while on high speed at 110kms on a 300kms run..
it ate fuel...like you would not believe...

ok i just suspect of the following thermo/temp/sensor for starters.
before i go o2 and air ...

test1::
cold start...intermitant gauge movement...( meaning sometimes it moves..as it warms ) other times you have wriggle the temp gauge wire and sensor wires to get it moving and recording..
test2::
from cold start and gauge feels like working after some 2 -3 mins it gets to running temp on the gauge idle at 1500 and steps down to 750-850
Now if i pull the sensor wires off while car running...rad fans come on!
soon as i place back fans go off....
is this correct function?

i was thinking the thermo is fully open always...
i do test 3:: later on when it cold right down...
and see the flow when cold .....
or do the hot water and visual check...

so if anyone have boought these parts cheaper let me know where ?
and there part numbers ...thanks

:)

 :)hi gang...

so far i got 1 set of thermo stuff...

standard flow    tt228-170
high flow          tt2028-170

now it does say that nissan pintara's prefer high flow..
and the different in both is stated to be 30%

thanks :)
