Panel Filters
« on: Aug 24, 2003, 12:09PM »
Right well tomorrow im going in for one, witch will be my first mod  However im still unsure what i should get & what i need to get. K&N of course is the big name, and while ive heard of other brands of pod filters so far i haven't heard much about other brand of panels.

So the question is. What brand ? What price & do i need to buy a service pack as well ?

K&N. Anything else is generally crap; you can buy a kit to re-oil the K&N when the filter gets dirty.

couldn't find anything man though i think thse prices are about right

also the K&N panel used in our cars is also used in either the VK or VL commo can't remember which one though

so all up to cover your ass if you can afford to take like $180 when you get it you'll be alright but if not just remember the filters come pre-oiled so all you gotta do is chuck it in and away you go and you could buy the service kit in a couple of weeks

anyways hope thats helped you out

When i got my extractors, i got my mechanic to put on my pod filter.  Fitted with the adaptor plate cost me $100.  CLE, get a pod filter, they sound pretty wicked!!

Get a pod Cle.  I got mine from autobahn with noss up in melb, and a VL MAF adaptor.  All up, it was $75 I think.

Just had to cut out the square hole in the VL's adpator to make it a big circle like the CA20E's intake (as opposed to the 'square' intake opening on the RB30E on the R31's and VL's).

And it does sound cool as Flogtara said ;D
