Front Strut Brace
« on: Sep 7, 2009, 02:31PM »
Well, It has recently occurred to my that my car has a fair amount of body roll in it. Since I never seem to be able to save up a decent amount of money, so I thought maybe a front strut brace? Just wondering where i can pick 1 up from and how much do they usually cost?

A strut brace will not reduce body roll... you want sway bars  ;)
These should be in garage11.com otherwise check out the manufacturers... whiteline.

Should be about what $250?

Strut brace will help body stiffness so probably after the swaybars, cost about $150.
SSS does a wicked brace for under the car too, not sure if its suitable for the U13, there is a thread about it so have a search.  ;)

also i forgot to mentionthe front strut brace hits part of the engine. the AAC valve on the intake manifold

You can see halfway along the the strut brace there is a white part, its a reflection from camera flash. Well thats where it hits.
Altimas didnt have that part so they never had clearance issues

I've always wondered why the U13 has that sticky up bit and the US KA24 dont.  Its just some idle sensors/valves etc.

so i sold it to jellobello.

Sold the car or the brace?
Selling a car just because of the brace is a bit hardcore.

I listen to Killswitch Engage... I'm a little bit hardcore.

If the part dont fit, make it fit.  Sounds like something George W would say  :P

OK so i was having a look at the engine bay today and found out I may have a little bit more of a problem than the thing in the middle,it appears the gas lines for the air-con come up a bit higher than the struts which could be a problem since i wont be able to put a strut brace through it. Does anyone know a way around this, how did you fit yours on?

Cheers

they bend quite easily, just be gentle and really careful that you don't crack anylines.
