Slightly sick ca20e
« on: Mar 17, 2011, 12:18AM »
I have 85 Nissan Pintara ca20e auto with a very intermittent problem. when running properly with my foot flat from take off it changes at 5600r.p.m  from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third and kicks back easily. when its not running properly it changes gear at about 4500r.p.m at these shift points and wont kick back at all unless going very slow and feels sluggish. It can change from good to bad or vica versa at any time and is really annoying, you never know if it is going to go or not when you boot it. or once you get used to it running bad and use the throttle as required it suddenly roars into life kicksback and revs to the max. It doesn't seem to make any difference what the engine temp is. I think it also affects fuel economy. Also what is the function of the sensor on the exhaust manifold ? Because I'm suss of it. any help appreciated, thanks.
