Check this out, its starting to get a bit ridiculous now:

ABC criticised over 'Playschool' same sex story time
12:16 PM June 3

The ABC has been criticised for allowing Playschool to broadcast a children's story allegedly involving a same sex couple.

Federal Minister for Children, Larry Anthony, says while Playschool is a quality program, it overstepped the mark in reading a book about a child with two mothers.

Mr Anthony says it is the role of parents to educate their children on such issues.

"I am concerned that the ABC are putting on these types of programs," he said.

"Quite frankly when it comes to my children, if I want explain about same sex couples that should be up to parents.

"It should be up to me, not the Australian broadcaster."

i actually agree with what they are saying.

completely regardless of what my opinion of same sex couples is, i dont think it should be portrayed on a show like playschool. And thats for the same reason they dont have little singalongs about what mummy and daddy do together in bed

u dont see lesbian mum outraged that their daughter is seeing a dad and a mum on tv saying how they love each other. Seriously some people need to get over racism and sexual prefernces as as basis of a payout. Hey there is having fun payout and serious insults.

As long as the two mummies wernt making out or have a hardcore lesbian scene i think they should get ova it

Ill agree that the outcry is ridiculous, but is playschool really the place to highlight controversial issues like this? Should 4 year olds be reading books like "I have two dads" and the like? Surely someone read the book before it was read on air, and anyone with a shred of common sense would see that something like this would cause some adverse reactions. Playschool should stick to that song with the crazy monkeys and the clouds that go gong (or was it bong.....

there was a outcry when sesame street started putting coloured children in their episodes...
dont forget howards new stand on same sex marriages.. i think everyones just jumping on his bandwagon..

im a parent and found it no way offensive.. kids ask worse questions then what lesbians are...

Yeah the ABC is outrageous, Did you know that they have women reading the news. Come on guys this is 2004, You would think that the prejudice would have stopped in the 50's! What about the poor kids at home who do have 2 mum's and feel that their home life is wrong, they shouldn't be made to feel like even further outcasts by seeing how their family situation is outraging people.

There are kids in primary school being charged with sexual assault and girls at werribe primary school giving handjobs for $5, so maybe parents don't know the right time for their kids to learn about sex!

I thought Australians were pretty open minded, but their are obviously still some Mr. & Mrs. Cleavers out there

Get in early though, their has been pretty long lines ever since it was on the news, and there has been talk of it going up to $10 (I'm so going to jail $:-\$ )

Any way I just heard another complaint from lazy ass parent groups. They want to stop Maccas from being advertised during kids television. Heres a tip to those parent groups: Why don't you stop watching TV, get off your lazy ass and take responibility for your own children

! If you were any kinda parent youd be making your kids lunches and not palming them off to TV and fast food joints

Theres alota that where i work! I had one lady come in and tell me that she couldn't afford to get her kid xmas presents last year. I said to my self and when she left out loud 'then stop hiring videos and save your self $10 every week so you can get them something you sh*thead' People need to move on same sex couples are just gonna come 'out' and live life like everyone else its just a part of the world these days, just like it was for coloured children dancin with big bird!

I know im only new so i shouldnt rock the boat but how many 4 yr olds do you know that would understand (or even care about ) the concept of same sex parents? i reckon ppl should just get over it. do the kids look worried? although i did luv that crazy assed song bout cows goin bong or wateva...
