teamnse chips
« on: Nov 14, 2002, 02:57AM »
I can't find the other thread, so here's a new one...

I have 2.4L performance chips rated at 105kW and 205Nm for sale. They are based on an up-spec'd silver Powerchip and sell for AU$195 + fitting + P&H. In terms of chips, that's half the price of what you'd expect to pay, and I'd be surprised if you found any cheaper.

You will find they remove the flat spot around 2500-2900rpm, and provide more low down power through gears 1-3. They are optimised for cars with extractors and exhaust, but run successfully without these mods (91nismotrx/Noss). With your timing set correctly, and premium fuel used you should find no significant dropoff in top end, and no significantly increased fuel consumption. It is simply a remapping of the fuel injection points.

This is the same chip that is in my car, 91nismotrx's (Noss), and fmx_rider's. Mine has been in since May this year without any problems. 91nismo's shortly after, and fmx_rider's went in this week.

A new service... send your #39 ECU (labelled as such) to me in Melbourne, and I will arrange to have the chip professionally installed with a socket. This allows you to choose between standard chip and performance chip. All postage and installation costs are covered by you - I merely provide the time and convenience for you with probably a week or less turnaround time.

I only have a limited number of these chips left.

- Adam

Yeah, no worries...

Send me an email at [email protected] or [email protected] with some details of where you live, etc. and we'll see if we can sort something out. Yours is obviously a TRX, I take it?

Price is listed above. The chips were mapped in-house according to available hex code. Once they're gone, that's it... no more available.

OK - Was just talking to Stuart (old head technician for chiptorque) and have been told that we can adapt a Delco unit out of (would you believe) a 2.0 Camira to fit.

As i don`t know what ignition systems are on these cars (as i don`t own one) could someone tell me?

This also goes for anyone with a ET Pulsar - Hey it`s a Nissan so didn`t think you`d mind too much me posting this fact up.

I`ll let you know more when i hear back from Stu

KA ignition: distributor with optical sensor (slotted disc), single power transistor and coil. i *think* the KA has vaccuum advance.
CA: i believe it uses the same optical sensor in the distributor, has twin coils.

So your saying the KA has a chopper disc?
If this is so it`s going to be lot easier than originally expected

Just to note i was a dumbass in saying the distributor for the KA has vacuum advance, it's all ECU controlled ignition timing.

ca20e chips may not appear for a while, seeing as I traded in my ca20e last week because no one was interested in buying the car or the chip that was in it.

i want a ca20e chip, not really a rush though but i eventually want to chip it, my goal is to get it making over 100kw with other mods. i'd say thats easily obtainable. for interests sake any ideas what kind of kw gain i would have got from a 2" cat back over stock?

I'm guessing that my ca20e had around about 100kW, and all i did was:

2.25 cat back exhaust
Pod Filter
Gold98 powerchip (rated at 95kW)

So it's not all that hard to do, that's well and truely less than 1k worth of mods.

was recently talking to my mate who i sold my pintara to a couple of months back....
he said he dragged a mate of his with a stock 2L corsair, and he beat it by a car length from about 0-100km/h.
Pinny had a 2.25 inch exhaust from the cat back and new cat.

oh, and he is getting extractors and pod filter next week, im looking forward to seeing what difference that makes.
I think he is planning for major performance gains in the future too.....will be interesting. :)
2.0L 4 -------> 3.0L 6. Does this mean a 4.0L 8 next?? or back to a 2.0L......turbo!

adamjtrx has the 2.4 litre chips, that is if there are any left. if there arent, there will be some shortly. otherwise, i will possibly be selling mine & upgrading to a uni chip.

he is on these forums. send him a pm. simple.

as for the chips. take your ecu to an electronics place or a small circuit board manufacturing/soldering place and get it done there. should cost no more than $30.
