Aftermarket timing chain issue...
« on: Nov 1, 2008, 05:46PM »
Only about 1500 Km's ago my timing chain guide(the plastic POS one) broke so replaced the chain, guides and tensioner with a cheap(What a bargain) all in one kit from Autopro for $80.00 the lot... Chain has just disintegrated taking out the new plastic tensioner, the alloy post(whatever it does) at the bottom, and totalled the timing cover....again $80.00 what a bargain...

Good news...the valves were at TDC and all closed when it went and the chain when it broke seized the engine so no bent valves or broke pistons...

Does anyone know where i can get the metal backed static guide and a new timing cover from relatively cheap, and i'm probably going to go with a genuine chain this time...
