Lightened under drive crank pullies.
« on: Sep 26, 2012, 11:51AM »
I've looked into lightened under drive crank pullies and the FWD SR pullies, and well, there's a theory they may fit the KA engines, can anyone confirm this ?

all i can confirm is that KA24DE is close, but has an extra belt track that makes it too wide for the KA24E.

would be worth comparing with your brother's pulsar rather than trying to find someone here that has both.

Better things to spend your money on than these; you'll only free up 5-6kw tops, which you'd be hard pressed to feel by the seat of your pants.

You need the crank pulley to incorporate a harmonic balancer, the factory didn't put them on for no reason.

Yeah I had given up on these, did my research and apparantly if you use these without balancing your crank, you can run into alot of problems.

If you can get one whilst you are building the motor (ie as you said, have it balanced with the crank / flywheel / clutch that you are going to use), it's then complimentary to your built motor.

Not worth it otherwise like i said.

Yes well, seeing as the head is already torqued to the block, timing guides etc installed, im not prepared to back track as to getting the crank removed and balanced, that's if it has to be removed, I have no knowledge on how it's done. Unless It get done with the crank in the motor than I may purchase one and get it done at a shop and get get it all matched up.

I am still against the operation of these even with a "dynamically balanced" engine.

Stay the F away from them, marketing bullshit.

to be fair, it wouldn't be ANTRX if we stayed on topic.
