Is the noise coming from the speaker itself, or is it something inside the door?

Yeah probably better check if it's the speaker or door.

I reckon it'd be the speaker rattling against the door.

Take the speaker out of the car but still have it connected to the speaker wires and see if it rattles.

have you been cranking your head unit up really loud? you could have damaged your speaker if you tried to turn your music up loud a few too many times while running the speaker off the head unit power.
