Hmm yeah i noticed that its gone a bit quiet too lately... i just put it down to fuel being hell expensive we dont get to flaunt money on the car so much. Heaps less frequent cruises this year too.
Think its died a little on many of the car forums though, not just here.

maybe i have the wrong outlook at the moment, but think the world has got a little boring lately. All this war crap, still no rain, still John Howard, still high petrol prices, i'm still at uni/still no money, still havent sorted out my girl troubles (who ever does?) so yeah, nothing new to speak of. But i just speak for myself there, I needed to have a bit of a bitch.

Maybe you should organise a cruise for you're local state.. something new and exciting

I agree to an extent. There have been so many wankers come onto these forums with some of the stupidest ideas over the years that a lot of people have got sick of it. Too many people say "i'm going to do this..." but never come up with the goods. This is why i think a lot of people are quite critical.

Theres a difference between radical thinking... and being a ricer.

one of the reasons I love this place is because it has something that no other forum has... Style.

We have guys here who are engineers, designers, fabricators... etc... these guys have the know how to do what they say... and say what they do. 9 1/2 Inch monster tachos with shift lights are nothing special. Silvia fronts transplanted on a pinnie... thats hardcore. Individual Throttle bodies are hardcore. Big brake upgrades. Etc Etc Etc.

As Xedus101 said... to many people say im gunna do this im gunna do that. This place is slow... because its hard to do anything with a model that no-one mods.

Get up, and do something. Anything. If you like it, thats that. If someone doesnt.... then he/she can go in a different direction...

Thats what everyones doing! As I have already said, the AWD focus of these forums is changing fast with more of us driving Bluebirds. Project section is racing along at times, with people performing major modifications.

That is true, but it is a case of same shit, different day.
I can count on one hand the number of people who are in the process of doing something different, or have done it.

Personally, all the work i'm doing requires custom fabrication, which takes time and money if i can't do it myself; ie welding aluminium. Most days i can't be fucked doing anything after work, i know i can wait for what i'm building. I never had the urge or desire to borrow a stupid amount of money to finish my U12. It's a long term project, and i treat it as one.
To some degree there is an air of disappointment or negativity on mods i am doing or going to do, simply because i'm disappointed by how the mods i have done have performed. So with that frame of thinking, i usually don't bother doing any work on the car until i am in a positive mood to do so.
My U12 is a hobby, therefore my life doesn't revolve around it.

After owning 2 different trx's for 3 years I can say that I have never had a 'bad week' with my car. Sure it shits me to tears sometimes when something breaks, or when I put my foot down under 2500rpm and get the better half of a japanese midgets nose worth of power. But in a way antrx has spurred me on to stick with it. There were a few times over the past few years, particularly when my first trx got written off that I was tempted to jump ship and get a silvia. Thank god I didn't.

Even with the standard stage 1 mods my car has it still gets obvious glances most days, and it stands out in shopping centre carparks thats for sure. it all comes down to individuality and character which is what the car and the forum has. You'll also get the 17 year old wankers who had a 40 thousand dollar car given to them and so they go onto the forums thinking they are the shit. Most of us here has bought our U12's with our own hard earned, so we actually appreciate them for what they are.....

anyway, I'm gonna stop there because its getting all mushy and shit. But I don't think many of you will find a forum with atmosphere like antrx.

I find it funny that ANTRX was half the reason I bought my first TRX, other half was the car looks. Just the atmosphere on here was brilliant, and everyone seems happy to help. But anyway... We are reaching the point where unless you are spending big $$$ on the U12 or taking forever to do it, its doesnt bring a great deal of excitement to the forum

ITB's, VG30's, KA-T's now thats exciting... When i first joined, excitement was CAI's, swaybars and clear indicators.

Still I love the TRX, it still gets a look from people when driving through town.

Yea ANTRX has its ups and down, like Colby has said, back in the days the biggest thing on ANTRX was the CAI's, clear indicators and swaybars. Now that everyone has gotten past the cheap and nasties no-one can really afford some serious mods for their car (i can talk as im one of them, want to rebuild the bluey and boost it but funds are stopping me big time).

ANTRX got me into spending money on my car, i bought the bluey with my own $$ ($8000) and since then have been pretty damn poor, so mods have been limited to practically nothing. Thanks ANTRX...nah still love ya. Its a good club, but deffinately needs to be spiced up a little!!

Maybe start some sort of game that might go on for a while, have a bit of a clean up of un-needed threads and posts so it doesnt look like we are talking about shit all the time.

Keep up the good work ANTRXers and keep them U12/U13 going strong.

Good to have a car that stands out (like mine)..hehe

I agree there is nothing to say it has to be registered... probably better that way in fact. Just run it places on either a trailer, or a temp road permit for special meets.

i could, and im sure plenty of other ppl could, get a working car for a grand, probly under - depending on wat sort of base we wanted to start on. donations could also be made at cruises, or as others said, by paypal. i think we could make a real go of it. donations could even be spare parts. it would b really cool.

if we were ever to do a project car maybe to start with, see how much interest can b generated, have like a quota for donations b4 the car goes ahead, and if we dont reach that quota those who have donated get there money back

Not to be a spoilsport, but just looking at some of the forum stats: a mere 170 or so of our 1675 members have a postcount over 100 (and that's not subtracting the ones inactive for a long time). Though I realise this is a very poor proxy for willingness to help out as far as donations go, it may be a reasonable proxy for the level of dedication we could expect to such a project, from the club as a whole. I don't think there's enough people who stick around long enough (i.e. who don't sell their U12's) to see something like this through - a small amount of people would probably end up contributing the bulk of the resources to such a project.

Put it simply, if the U12 was such a popular make that we here at antrx were swimming in product from sponsors, building a dedicated track car (drag or street) would be a very feasible option.

Consdering that we aren't, and the funding has to come out of others pockets, it will not work.
IMHO i wouldn't be handing over cash for a "club" project car when i have my own to spend money on and finish.
