New face
« on: Oct 2, 2008, 04:47AM »
Hey everyone, my name is Ryan, 20 years old, in Port Richey, FL. I just inherited my dads 92 nissan stanza, currently ka24e automatic, but I plan on going ka24de 5 speed. I can't stress enough how stoked I am that I found this site.. i've been posting on other nissan forums with no luck of finding any information on modifying a u12. I'll start searching to see what I can turn up for a 92 stanza/pintara, and post when I start drawing blanks lol. Glad to be here, and I look forward to learning alot.

Welcome m8. I've been a member here for only a short time but have no bloody idea how I ever got anywhere without the info/help found on this site, second to none when it comes to the u12 pintara, corsair, trx and stanza.

I hear you on that, it took registering on 4 forums before I was pointed in this direction.

You'll be happy with the KA24DE swap and a 5spd box.

The U12's are lighter than the U13's as well... not sure on exact weights for USDM models, but under 1250kg for most KA aussie U12's.

I'm pretty stoked on the project. I almost got a 91 se-r, sr20det, with some basic bolt ons before I got my daily driver (97 buick riviera) And ever since I missed out on that offer, i've wanted an early gen nissan. Seems like it's going to be a ridiculously fun car, hopefully ka-t in the near future. I almost hopped on the Honda bandwagon because I wanted an eg hatch because of their weight and hondas ridiculous parts database, but my father passed 2 weeks ago, and I fell in love with the stanza when I saw it.

you might find you'll have trouble fitting anything larger than a t28 in your stanza.. have a look at my project, i'm running a hitachi turbo which is the same size as the t28 from the r33 skyline (rb25det) and with the radiator fans removed and aftermarket ones installed on the front of the rad, there isnt a whole lot of room to spare around the turbo.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I like t28's, is the hitachi ball bearing as well?
