is there a rev limiter?
« on: Jan 5, 2006, 11:24PM »
I looked for one tonight, couldn't find one.

Step 1. First gear
Step 2. Launch and get to 60 km/h (about 6700rpm)
Step 3. slow down quickly or change into 4th.

I reached 60.

I reason that there's not a cut-out at 6500. Is there one at all in the R31?

My old R31 had a rev limiter of some sort...then again it could have just been valve bounce ::)

I thought it was about 6700 - 6800 (thats an auto).

Can you do the Boss 302/GTHO trick of pulling out the rev inhibitor and not having a limiter?

Cheers,
Brendan

it sounded more like valve bounce to me at 67-6800.

I will have to do more 'research' on the subject ;)
