QLD Raceway and Lakeside Sprints
« on: Feb 10, 2009, 07:14PM »
Well i took the CRX up to QR for the 1st round, quickest time was a 1:06:7 with no grip on the rear through the corners, also a lot of very low 1:07's. Not bad times, fastest the pinny has run is 1:06:2. when it's mtr was standard as well. I was about half a second faster than an MR2 that was in my group all day.
Lakesides 1st round is on 1st march, can't wait.

OK Mr. Sticky here goes,

dates are feb 21, apr 4, may 23, july 4, sep 19 nov 7, nov 28.
Need to get there by 11am there abouts to give yourself time to sign on etc.
runs start about 12:30/1:00pm

pay on day $149, prepaid $119, annual licence $55 or day licence $20. Helmet hire $5 + dep on day.

Entry requirements are; car has to be able to be driven on public roads, street rubber if you want the points,
long pants, long sleeves, shoes/sox. It's really just turn up in your street car, sign on and go for it when they call your group.

It's pretty good value seeing as you can get up to 28 laps in a day broken into 4 grps of seven laps.
They now run approx 15 cars on track at one time, used to be 8.
Come give it a go and anyone else that wants to truelly see how good they/their car can go.
Believe me there is nothing on the street that gives you the thrill of going flat out on a race track where there is no traffic to worry about besides the other guys that are doing the same thing and there is really nothing to hit with the runoffs they have there.

oh and if there aren't a lot of cars and we get all our runs done early, sometimes they do let you take passengers out for a run without helmets and no overtaking as long as they're 18 or over.

Sounds good. Is it like a time trial event or is it a competitive one? Any special requirement on the car? Thanks for the heads up :)

you're racing the clock to get your best time but you do get points as well to go towards the sprint championship. As to the car, read 1st post again  :)

If any of you had come out you could have got a ride around the track at speed as a passenger for 15 mins after we were done  :P

No faster time this meet, water across track in the dippers and then a skyline dumped a heap of oil going into the last corner onto the straight, so it was a bit slippery in places.

North side of Brisbane.
Turn onto Lakeside road from Narangba road at Kurwongbah, it's behind Kurwongbah golf course.
