Fuel economy r31 CA20E ??
« on: Oct 29, 2008, 08:50PM »
Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you folks who have CA20E Pintaras could tell me the kind of mileage you get from your fuel?

I always fill my tank to the top, and can't usually get past 350km out of between 47 and 50 litres.. which is about 14.3 Litres per 100km. Mine is an auto by the way.

Would you consider this normal?

I do keep my foot planted most of the time, to get the most out of it... would I be better off with a V6 perhaps.. then i wouldn't have to floor it constantly.. Trying to save money and my mates new Astra easily gets 600km out of 50 litres... so a bit sad here heh...

Any advice welcome!

Thanks,

Paul.

seems a bit high to me. I've got an R31 CA20E manual and I get about 10 L/100K
I'm so far behind at work, I'm almost retro!

My old car was 24L/100 so the pintara was an upgrade... but with fuel prices the way they are and money getting tight... hmmmm

I can smell fuel in the engine bay.. it's weird because I have replaced all the hoses and filter and cannot track down where it could be coming from... any thoughts ?

All the injectors are new too.. that's where there WAS a leak before..

Did you check all the fuel lines as well from pump?
Ill fight you. May even throw a bar of soap your way. Maybe a few wax strips and some clip on brembo brake calipers for your fooly sic civic.

no i havent.. it is a metal line from the bay to the tank.. and then a rubber hose from the back to the tank.. checked that, its ok.. but the fuel smell is up front....

My manual wagon gets 9-12l/100km depending on what sort of driving I do. And that's driving it fairly hard because it is gutless.

i think this may be your main problem....

buying a 6 would only cost you more if you drove it the same way
