The ECU pinout should be similar if not the same as a U12 Pintara/UA Corsair.

Download the service manual from here --> http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?topic=7177.0
and check out the ES section for the CA20E.

cheers mate i went and checked it out and the closest match i could  find was  the ca20e e.c.c.s harness,(EL-70) which has 3 plugs going into the ecm(2g,3g,4g), what i am chasing is the wiring diagram from the 1986 r31 pintarra ecu.( it only has 2 plugs coming out of it), it also has on it what i would say is the model number,(a11-000 j40) if that helps, or 5zo3 or 22611 66s00 ???

Oh ok...

In that case your best bet would be the Gregory's manual for the R31 Pintara. Your local library might have one in its reference section.

gregory's doesn't help with pin outs, only error codes.

You'll need an R31 Full Service Manual. Skyline and Pintara covered. I don't have one, so I can't help. try ebay or pitstop books *new ones are about $100

I would suggest getting a more modern engine rather than a carbi R31 motor.  Surely sr20 is the obvious? or KA if you can find RWD box.  The wiring diagrams are plentiful.  If its this hard just to find the diagrams the other half of the conversion is likely to be difficult also... but if you are keen and you have the CA ready to go.. then why not eh?
Good luck with it :)  love to see a pimped out cab ute.

ok first of the r31 i have is injected, installing it and the box is easy as i have been customising for the past 26 years. if i can find a wiring loom diagram then  hookin it up will be easy, if not then i may opt to swap the r31 for an l20 or something similar. as it is i aquired another r31 today,(wagon),which i am able to rat for the rest of the fiddly parts i need

Hey fatz I have seen a commodore V6 in a datsun 720 which looked factory, one of the best conversion's I have ever seen. If someone can fit a V6 out of a different brand of car in a 720, mate you shouldn't have to much trouble.

wow   a v6 into a 720 now that i would like to see, in my younger years i helped my mate mark transfer his 4 cylinder diesel hilux into a 5 ltr hilux it took abit but we dun it. i would like to see pics of any 720's that have been altered, adjusted and played with but there doesn't seem to be a keen interest in 720's

You just triggered my memory banks dave... my uncle used to have a 720 4x4 with a Commodore V6 in it.

I have no idea what happened to the car.

Jono what colour was is it. I was talking to a guy a while ago who had a red one. The nicest conversion I have ever seen. Looked factory and it had a Hydraulic tray, like a tipper.
