Hi Guys,

Trying to help out my sister with her Pintara - there are a few problems.

1. Drivers door lock does not work from outside - I think maybe there is something stuck in the key hole as the key does not go all the way in. Is this a regular problem and is there a quick fix??

2. Rear demister switch is rock solid and cant be pressed! I have tried belting the s&^% out of it to no avail  ;)

3. Heater! The heater core was leaking so we had it disconnected. I picked up a second hand heater core just need to work out how to put it in :)

Any tips would be great, it's a nice comfortable car to drive except for these few probs  8)

Cheers,

Paul.

First of all, buy a Gregory's manual.

Lock - i'd say you're right, something's stuck in there. The key should go all the way up to the end of the grooves that run along the key.

Demister - i'd just remove the switch, bridge the wiring loom so that it's always on and leave it at that. Put the switch back in the hole if you don't want it to look ghetto.

Heater core - The gregory's will tell you in enough detail to do the job.

Cheers!

Hi again,

tonight sorted out some of her problems :) Found half a key jammed in her drivers door lock, after a lot of work got that out.

Rear demister switch.. well I finally got it out after some serious digging, and find the whole thing has melted down! hoping there is a fuse somewhere and it has blown. The plug and switch are melted together and the whole thing is warped.

The heater core I will attack with the aid of a gregorys manual :)

Just another quick question
- replacing the bulbs behind the dash - is that a quick job of take those 2 screws out at the top?

Cheers,

Paul.

And there's not much I can say
But we miss you every day
And I'm bitter 'cause it's unfair
We'll be drinkin' in the sun
Playing music having fun
Cause one day I'll see you there

To replace the dash illumination bulbs you have to remove the gauge cluster.

to change heater core you have to pull the dash out take photos while u do it and remove heater box, but do not disconnect air con pipes
Your car may be able to go faster.
