my u12 custom boot install - PICS!!!
« on: Mar 17, 2010, 12:05AM »
So I did a little work in my boot... thought I'd share some piccies...

I built it all from scratch. I't all modular so can be taken apart if need be. The sub box is ported and I tweaked the math to get an extra 20hz response on the lower end from what the manufacturers ultra-conservative "safe specs" recommend.

The whole boot install only cost me about $800-$900 thats including the subs and amp and the green vinyl imported from the states..... and it was a hellava lot of fun

1x 800W RMS Option Audio monoblock driving 2 x 12" Fusion Reactor Woofers
6x9 Alpine Type R's up back and Type R splits up front. The speakers are running off my headunit at the moment til I get the funds for the second amp.

The Pintara boots are so massive, even with all the gear I still reckon I could fit a dead body in the boot.... perhaps 2 or 3 with the assistance of a chainsaw..... jokes.... but seriously......

That is rather tidy and simple,  i much prefer over outlandish, fancy setups

Good job old boy

Cheers lads

Speaking of outlandish though Sticky..... yes i aimed to keep my boot nice and tame....

However.... we went all out on my housemates '98 Civic....

He firetwirls. So we gave his install a lil "fire twirling feature" :p

Similar basic design, but we took the spare wheel out and in that cavity built a box with 'wine racks' racks in it. In the wine racks could fit 3 Smirnoff bottles that we filled with kerosene, citronella and a mix of the two for 3 diff colours. Beneath each bottle installed those neons you can get from supercheap that flash to the beat of the music. The idea was that the whole bottles would light up.

It worked feckin schweeeet!

These photos hardly do it justice......
