weird transmission problem

so i have a 1991 stanza with the ka24e and auto gear box. so the issue im having is when you step on it, it will down shift rev till red line the bounce off the rev limiter till you let off. any thoughts?

Hummm, I think the part that controls upshits is called a 'governor' ... maybe thats knackered?

My U12's auto box used to do that, but only when cold.

I believe my governor is stuffed.

In drive i'll step on it, and wont upshift, it feels like it goes into a lower gear and feels very sluggish.

Either governor, or line pressure solenoid. Something along those lines. Farkin autos, they are good when they work.
