ONLY 40 DAYS UNTIL I CAN GO FOR MY P's
Dose anyone know a good place to do the test in or around pine rivers

ie i dont mind going to zilmer or strathpine or anywhere in pine rivers and surrounding

thanks, i think i should be right althought
dad thinks the test may be a bit easy in a way,
take for example my friend dave he drove a manualy for 3 1hours driving lessions and got it first go
i guess i'm ok for this but because he can drive pritty good
but then there are some of the people on the road

my test was a piece of cake, i didnt even have to do a reverse park or a three point turn, it was only 15 minutes of driving. but some of my mates had to do 2 or 3 reverse parks and there tests went a lot longer.

yer same here.... i picked up manual after lessons and was ready for the manual test but no.... u gota have to clock up 50 hours min. in nsw...

my test was 15 too.... 1 reverse park and a u turn where a fukn truck could do it with ease... but hey.. im not complaining

i suggest you drive around the area which you plan on doing your test
learn all the stop signs and school zones, and so on
thats what i did and i got them first go, i knew the area really well.

For your test, try and choose a time which doesn't have heavy traffic. Mine was on a Tuesday at 10.30am, the roads were nice and quiet....too easy.

98% of the time, you get a 3-point turn (in Vic anyway). Only rarely do you get a reverse park or angle park.

uhh nope...here in SA you can go for a test with a driving instructer after NO TIME. They don't know how many hours you have or haven't driven. Just so longs you are 16 1/2 and get over 80% in the test, which usually lasts about 40 mins here.

Or you can go the pissy way and get a logbook licence where you tick off all the different things...usually takes people 10 lessons that way.

thats what it was like here up until about 2 years ago, the rules for learners and provisional drivers are just getting worse and worse!

All you have to do to get licence in Geelong is rock up to Vic Roads in your Ute. Show them that it has the obligatory roo spotting lights on the roof, the huge bull bar, at lest five stickers and at least a 2m radio antenna. Then they take you to the dirt patch over the road and test your ability to do circle work while wolf whistling school girls. Then you have to drive around the block obeying at least one stop sign and you also have to get you ass out at at least one corner. You go back to Vic Roads, get you photo taken, they give u your licence and a six pack of Bundy and you done.
Quite easy.

when i did my test, it lasted almost an hour, all tests in queensland are supposed to last a minimum of 40mins, and a maximum of 70mins. thats what my driving instructor told me anyway.

if the examiners are as bad as what they are in redcliffe, they will take you to all the little traps around the area, so its best that you go and get your test done in an area you are familiar with.

for example, there is what is called a spoon drain in an intersection of a back street or margate, the examiners would take you there and when you cross the spoon drain, if you dont slow down, you will scrape. the examiner will count this as a collision and you will fail your test.

another example is on the beachfront road in redcliffe, near the police station, heading towards the jetty/margate, there is a 50km/hr sign just before the round-a-about. this sign is right next to a pine tree, and sometimes the pine tree grows over the sign, if the leaves are overhanging they take you through there and then of course you dont see the sign so they bust your ass for speeding and you fail.

if you are going for a manual test it is supposed to be mandatory that you do at least 1 3 point turn, 1 hill start, and 1 reverse park. in an auto however, you dont have to do any of this. that is supposed to be an australia wide ruling too.

you can never be too prepared for a driving test anyway, i failed twice. the first time was the mistake of the examiner, the 2nd time was my fault.

first time, a postie came off a footpath across in front of me, he should have given way to me because he wasnt on the road, however i was failed for not giving way to the postie. go figure. my instructor was furious.

the 2nd time i failed because i was merging with traffic, it was peak hour and there were stacks of cars, so me, trying to be the merging boy i am, merged just before the dotted line started, so i was failed for crossing a solid white line

anyway. thats my story about getting my p's in brisbane.

Shit hey...

My test was 30mins. I was waiting to turn right at one of the busiest intersections in Geelong city, on a green light (no arrow). I entered the intersection and waited as you do. There were no gaps opening up so eventually the lights began to go amber. I went right and go my bum over the line just in time for the red. The problem was I had to squeeze into the left hand side, which was a bus zone and all the cars were on my right.

I put on my indicator to merge and waited. Eventually a nice P plate girl who must have felt my pain let me in.

I didn't do any parking other than the piss easy reversing from the 90' angle park at the begining, and parking back in the same park at the end.

I also have a license with no 'A' for auto on it... hehe

I had to do the 3 point turn, the hills stat, the u turn etc.
The only thing I lost points for was riding the clutch, and I wasnt even riding it, I was just leaving my foot on the pedal when it was up. But being the bastards that they are, they want you to put your foot on the rest after every gear change.
I was glad when it was over.

Also, make sure you keep checking the mirror for the rear and whats behind you. They are nazi's when it comes to that.

My instructor was so strict on that!! I had to look in the review before i even thought of touching the brake

"to see whats behind me and if its safe to brake"

stuff whos behind me!! If i need to brake i will brake!! i dont care who's behind me!!

The way my instructor taught me, is that I was NOT allowed to brake without looking in my mirror, and if someone was to close I couldnt brake.

people get scared when going for their ps and they have a moderator. i dunno why. i got 98% with the mdoerator so obviosuly it didnt affect anything
