ECU OPTIONS
« on: Mar 27, 2006, 08:39AM »
What aftermarket ECU options are available for the SR20DET engines. I am planning to doo a number of modifications to lift power to around a comfortable 190kw @ all 4 wheels. I would prefer to avoid 'piggy back' styles.
Has anyone had any experience with ECU's?
Which one?
Are any better than others?
Would the Power FC used on the GTIR suit?
Is the GTIR ECU wiring harness plug the same as the U13 Attessa?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

yeah apparently the Power FC for the GTiR by AP Engineering works and plugs in, guys on pulsar forum with U13 motors in Pulsars use them without trouble........that would be a suitable solution.

could also remap the stock ecu using a daughterboard, the issue is not its ability (and you know it'd idle fine and stuff), but more so the actual process of tuning which would typically require the chips to be removed, data changed and then re-inserted. it works but can be a little annoying, might be acceptable if tuning on the street yourself with a wideband o2 sensor and all.

to save the hassle of trying to find and then the huge price tage for a power FC.

the new biki mega board is going to be a big winner. no more removing of chips just plug in the laptop and very similar to a power FC, just no live tuning yet
