i have been wanting to turbo my stanza, but i have heard that it messes up something in the computer... i was wondering if that is so, and if it is, is there any way to bi-pass it? you guy's help would be more than appreciated! :)
-
uh...you need to re-tune the ecu so you don't detonate the motor to death under any form of positive intake pressure.
-
dont see any real reason why turboing a KA would be any harder than any other motor....
is a stanza just another name for a pintara?
-
its the USDM version
-
With big weird, super gay bumpers
-
And owners that can't use the search button :P
-
i agree we do have big weird lookin bumpers.lol. what kind of tuning to the ecu is needed? could i ship it some where to get it done? i live in hick alabama. lol. we have nothing like that here.

If you are turbocharging your car, take it to a workshop that has experience in these types of modifications, and to properly tune your computer, you really need it in the car and on a dyno where the mechanic can play around with it for a few hours making sure that the new tune will not destroy your engine in any situation.

thanks you guys! i am gonna start saving up for the turbo project. ill be the only one that i know of with a turbo stanza! lol.
-
you should look up nazstang on cardomain.com he turboed his stanza a few years back on the old teamnse site. i think he was shooting for something like 220-250 hp but i cant rember for sure.
-
lol teamnse.
lol @ mechanic comment, half of us on here can install turbo gear for half the price of a workshop and there is some people on here who can offer tuning solutions for again something like half price of anywhere else.
it's not very hard or expensive, you just need to WANT to do it.

stanza = pintara = corsair = U12 chassis.
Sorry, but many have beaten you to it.
SleepaTi's KA24DET in his U12 Pintara Ti is a prime example.

I know that, I just thought that it didn't sound like he knew much about turboing, and if he didn't I figured I'd give him the noob answer, for the sake of his engine.

I strongly recommend everyone that is even vaguely interested in turboing a motor reads "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell, i'll post up the rapidshare link later tonight.
