Can it be done.
« on: Dec 10, 2012, 11:05PM »
So I've been thinking for awhile, since I love the KA motor and s14s are my favorite car, would you be able to use a fwd DOHC head on a rwd navara block and put into an s14 here is Australia ?

Reason I'm asking now is because I now have the opportunity to buy a complete SOHC rear wheel drive motor for $300 with box.

If it was to work, I was going to use my ITB's with a custom plenum to boost on a forged, stroked, balanced block, plus I can use my lightened flywheel and MS2.

Thoughts.

I am not sure about the FWD dohc head on the RWD sohc block...theoretically there shouldn't be an issue.

It can be done, straight up you would need:
- custom mounts
- possible mods to or fabrication of a new sump
- eliminate the distributor and fit a toothed trigger to the crank pulley for crank angle signal.

Hmm, yeah, would have to convert to that ford edis setup. Fuck it, the the VCT SR would probably be better anyway.

can be done, totally worth it i would say, the distributor is in the complete wrong location for fwd / rwd head.

Although, the KA heads bolt straight onto the l20b blocks which are rwd. Probably an easier option. Than use the fwd head and convert to EDIS Format for the dizzy.

There is one on eBay.

I am just going to say it...

If you are looking at going with an S13 / S14 / S15, fuck wasting your time with a 4 cyl.

Really.

Pick up a VH41/45DE, stick a couple of turbos on it and it will be insanely fast.
