Title: earthquake's
Post by: dozer on Sep 8, 2010, 08:11AM
i'm over here in christchurch, nz and these shakes are putting the shits up everyone.
most of us are not sleeping that great due to the fear of not knowing when or how big the next one will be. i have been lucky so far with no damage to the home, even my bluey stayed up on stands in the garage unlike many others.

if i get in the car and drive a minute or two the damage is insane, roads are useless and there are massive openings everywhere. houses are sinking or being ripped apart.
a workmate lives in one of the worst hit areas and it's absolute carnage.
they have a three month old but with no power or water they had to depart there home.

was at work this morning when a 6.1 rolled though and knocked all the power out and we have been sent home again. the roads are busy trying to cope with all the other traffic from the closed roads.
it's taking ages to get anywhere. just so over it.  :-\

just got the call and now going back to work again!! >:(

I notice there were quite a few pics of churches damaged, then there is a photo of a few books "God is not great" and "Suckers".

there was an a4 sized home made poster up in the centre of christchurch plastered all over walls and street poles etc saying 'still standing since 1801' (or something) and then saying that its the church to go to cause its not gotten any damage since it was built.

i was at the christchurch airport when it hit, i had quite a big wander around and some areas faired quite well, other areas not so well.
