so a while ago i cut my exhaust off because the muffler was dragging since my car is slammed.
i clamped a piece of pipe to replace the muffler and at some points my car would rev to 2,500 and act like it was hitting a limiter of some sort.
so i took the pipe off and it went away, put it back on and it came back.
took it back off again, no issues until yesterday i was driving shifted into second and it started acting like it was bouncing limiter but at 2,500.
the exhaust does whistle only reason why i think its too small. ill take a pic tomorrow and show you guys.

Disconnect your IAT sensor (one that went into the top of the air box); sounds like it has gone bad.
A small exhaust pipe diameter won't cause the problem you're having.

The ECU will store an error code because it is disconnected, but it won't negatively affect anything performance wise.
My TRX did the same thing (again) about a week and a half ago, has been ok (fingers crossed) since I disconnected it. From memory, I think the ECU just defaults to seeing 20deg C intake temp when it is disconnected.
