« on: Apr 18, 2008, 05:49PM »
Who has got a twin loop muffler? Anyone want to review of the muffler in terms of performance, price and how it sounds like? Thanks. :)

I was going to run one, but I don't see the fuss, and by the way, you're not going to see a gain in our cars from a muffler.

Sound, apparently they open up at high RPM, I know mugen use it on their honda's, but a brand name vs cheap shit can be the difference of light and day.

I aint going to try one, its not worth it, in my eyes anyway.

Do some google searches, its been tried alot in the states. But be prepared for biased opinions.

I know how to do google searches. All I want to know is true review from pple who had the muffler and not from someone who has read something or heard something about it.

it looks really lame...something that honda people get.

a muffler ain't gonna do jackshit if the rest of the exhaust is tremendously restricted.
go to a shop and get a full exhaust made, incorporating the cat and o2 sensors of coarse.

i only got my muffler for aesthetic reasons.
if you want one that works then take a look at this:

it is somewhat pricey but it's all function over form.

the design behind the twin loop muffler is to create two mufflers in the space of just one. My muffler is straight-though and it isn't loud at all. this is where the TL muffler becomes a big expensive shiney restrictive piece of unnecessary metal. it impedes functionality.

of coarse it is just an opinion...you'd have to wait until you get your response from someone foolish enough to get this on their car.

I wouldn't be so set in stone about it, I personally feel its wank. BUT mugen did do testing and have found a reason for it, I've seen a few systems running it, but meh, I'm yet to see a before and after/sound comparison.

I just replaced the muffler on my mate's CA20 with a bit of 2.25 inch pipe. Now it's loud and has less restrictions yo!
