haha noss...

Well, I'm sitting at my PC typing this instead of running around the backyard in circles for 1hr burning calories :P

My swimming teaching normally keeps me quite fit, but I am currently in the 2nd last week of five weeks out of the water (only really been doing admin work since before christmas).  Have put on 2kg or so, for the people that know me thats a fair bit.  I'm a skinny, average height bastard :P

a few arm curls every weekend at the bar. :P that and all the typing i do keeps my fingers in shape. but now that im back home i think trips to the beach for swimming and body boarding will get me back to my thin brown self. hopefully. and running around with the mut will help.

drink large amounts of coke, eat hamburgers/bacon and egg rolls
then work it off during the day, then drink on the weekend, and work that off the next week working as well

its a cycle that tends to maintain my weight reasonably

I umpire AFL in Brisbane. At the moment im doing State League Div 1 reserves hoping to break into the seniors list this year...its bloody tough when there is about 30 blokes going for about 20 spots each weekend. Keeps you really fit.

Some time trial that are needed to do senior footy is things like 4km under 16min, 10km under 50min, 5x1km average of under 3:50 and i think theres one that is 10x80m at some rediculous time that i cant remember...so far ive been able to beat all those times except the 5x1km which are done in early february. That tends to keep you fit plus working helps aswel.

to stay fit: Well i'm an apprentice electrician so alot of my work involves crawling into roof caviities, walking long distances outside on hot days, pulling 650m lengths of cables through pipes in the ground (its not easy)  and carrying heavy stuff up stairs.
I bike ride 20-60k's a night and also play volleyball 2 nights a week.
To stay unfit: Technically i should be pretty fit, but i tend to balance it out with whatever tastes good.

Fit: mope around work... um... yeah. and I eat subway once a week.

Unfit: fast food for lunch every day, too much time in front of the computer forum-whoring, too much ice-cream and too much caffeine.

I bet you all I'm the least fit of all of you :P

I go mountain biking 2-3 times a week, and take the dog to the beach most days.
I usually do free weights 3 times a week but haven't done any for over a month  :-\ so I need to get back into that.
Oh and I go sailing most weekends.

Hey Jas, you do explosive weight training yeah ?? Whereas i do resistance training..

Hrmm, yeah just bulk up then do the light weight but high repetition minimal break styles when you've reached your bulked up size you like :), I'm currently bulking my arms and cutting my chest up..

So im benching 80kgx8 on my first set, then go down to 50 and do it 10 times, then 40, 8, then 40 6
On my arms i do 50kg on preacher curls with 10 reps REALLY slow until it burns !, then quick short movement at 8 reps, then back to my slow resistive but at 5, then fast with 5 reps.

When i go to the gym i normally do these in this order: (i have a routine of, mon-chest/tri's, tues-back-biceps, wed-hammys/quads, thurs-calves/abs, fri-chest/arms, sat/sun- rest but im focussing on arms and chest at the moment)

Bench press, Incline bench press, Decline bench press, Peck deck, Preacher curls, Lying dumbell fly's, 21 Barbell reps, upright row, pushups, tricep pull downs, tricep overhead pull and i go for a 20min run/2k row.

Hah interesting topic there Noss..

Hmm unfit, sit in front of the telly drinking beer or eating chips and drinking beer. Driving to shop even tho its like 5 mins walk up the road, usually drive to get the mail at the top of the drive way, drive to take the rubbish to the bin which is also at the top of the driveway. May i add my driveway is like 80m long.. :D

Fit, swimming in the pool, most of the time its too warm to spend a long time in it. Sex is a good fitness programme (twice in the evening, once in the morning, then multiple times during the day when can be bothered to trying to fight the heat)...hehe
Walk up and down missus' driveway (its about 50m long), get up to get beer (then goes back to unfit)

Im pretty lazy all round..

Oh eat crap load of junk food, but shit it does nothing for me...damn fast motabilizm (spelling??)

well, here goes....

been goin to the gym for like the past 6.5 years. At first it was for knee rehab, now I do 1 day of weight training; mainly just to keep definition in body. I always do higher reps at lower weights as i really don't wanna get any bigger. Tho havin said that, I can bench/lift quite a bit for my size  :P  Back when i was in yr 11/12, used to go to the gym like 5/6 days week to do workouts - all different stuff of course!

used to run and swim a bit, but bloody knee keeps playing up. so now cardio wise i only really cycle. I've started mountain bike racing each Thursday - super fun! also surf and body board, but maily body board now STILL cos of knee.

TRYING to keep off the juice (beer) now-a-days as i just wanna get heaps more fitter for mtb'ing and also should be gettin my SCUBA licence soon. Usually i only drink water thru'out the day, with the occasional blue powerade. I try and eat well, but its soooo much easier and cheaper to eat "junk" food. But i gotta high metabloism anyways (thankx god!) so it doesn't bother me too much if i have kfc or pizza or whatever.

I'm actually thinkin of doin a personal training short course if i can't find a job staight away....

pfft, i just carry bags of cement, and swing a hammer all day :)

hehe, my alternative to the gym is farm work... (when i'm on holidays from uni that is)
there isnt much on the farm that i dont at least have a go at.
loading hay is always a challenge, cause i'm shorter than all the guys to start off and the tray of the truck is about at my nose, so it starts getting difficult when the hay needs to be thrown on top of other layers of hay and above twice my height - anyone that has had to do this before will know what i'm talking about, and for the rest of you, um just believe me its tuff  ;D

on the days when i dont come inside and collapse after working stupidly long hours on the farm, then i can be found riding bikes (moto or mountain) swimming in the river -weather permitting, or eating too much food  :P

Maybe 10km through the Brisbane ranges down here near geelong... some mother-fucking steep/loose shit around there.  Used to x-country race around there and stacked many times, only ever had to retire due to injury once though.  Too much blood loss :P

yeah, had me mtb race this evening, damn i suck! every week i seem to crash at one part of the course or another, no matter how many practise runs i do! so i ended gettin stuck behind a slower dude on a "technical" bit on the 1st lap and i was right on his ass until a "little" uphill bit where i lost traction and fell and must've banged me (bad) knee on a root or rock and so was aching and bleeding like all buggery for the rest of the race.

in the end, i came pretty much last and it just pissed me off big time! hopefully next week will be better!

I'm perpetually bemused at a) people who can go to the gym on a regular basis, but particularly b) those who do so before or when the sun is rising!

How do people find the motivation for this!  I tried the gym for a month, but just can't stand the idea of such a rigid regime.

To stay fit, I try to ride or walk places that are close enough to (i.e. not use the car) and I walk the dog nearly every night (around 11pm - nice and quiet and no bloody traffic!).
