I nearly posted this in the flames section.

Piece of god damn... how did they get it in there in the first place!

Edit: Mayswell make this a useful thread:

Remove both the panels down in the floor wells, that guard the center console. Locate the ECU and bracket. Seriously, it's that giant metal thing back there. My brackets were shiny and gold. ;D

Stupid me tryed to go in and remove those two little bolts that hold the ECU bracket in (right down the bottom, bolted into the chassis) .using a spanner and applying a 1/8th turn, take off, readjust, etc. DON'T DO THIS!

The ecu bracket runs flush with the top of the ecu The top of this bracket, closest to the dash/gearstick/handbrake (whatever you'd like to associate with the rear of the car) also has a giant hole gauged out so you can poke an extension socket through and just use a 1/4" drive. The bolts are 10mm. Undo these two bolts, slide the bracket down (towards the center console), since there's a clip up top, undo the loom (another 10mm bolt), and you're done! The ECU is out.

Will add pics when I remove the ECU next.
