How to remove front bumper?
« on: Nov 29, 2005, 05:07PM »
I want to replace my bumper with an aftermarket bumper.
I have tried many times to remove my front bumper but i could not.
Anyone got any diagrams/ photos on how to remove the bumper? how many bolts are they?

thanks a lot

If its anyhting like the Stanza u12 then...

1. Pull the srews at each end that go into the fenders.
2. Remove the five bolts that hold on a bracket from underneath.
3. Remove corner lights, front indicators and then headlights
4. Remove the nuts holding it to the top of the bumper reinforcement. Should be about 10 of them.

You might also need to pull the bumper filler to get to the 10 nuts at the top.

  Good Luck

10 screws? Hrm, mine had 1 per wheel arch, then 2 where the number plate is, and that's it. But there's a series of about 8 clips on the front bumper support that holds the bumper as well.

I forgot, theres plastic piece of something that you have to remove. its between the bottom of the bumper cover and radiator support. I think its held on by a few screws to the radiator support. Once you get that off youll see the bolts that hold the bumper cover to the bumper reinforcement.

Didnt say 10 screws in the fender.. Check again ;) And remember, Im talking about a Stanza,  :P

woah... so much stuff... i'm kind of worried now.. the only thing holding my bumper to my car is two screws underneath each of the wheel arches..

OIC, let me check again. i think my intercooler pipings blocked my view. Need to jack up my car to check again. I think my bumper is screwed to the steel reinforcement. But i can't see the bolts. Took my front indicators lights out already.

Budgie, yeah at last. At first i plan to redo my intercooler pipings but i want to pay that much. I have dynoed my car and it did not lag like I thought i would. So, no point redoing it. The super nismo bumper i've got comes with only one side indicator + fog lamp, most likely i will remove it and rewire my side lamps for indicators. Do you know whether S13/ S14 side skirts fit ours? how about the rear bumper.

i wish i have the TRX bodykit instead.  ;D :D 8)
