An example of my n00bishness...
« on: Nov 10, 2007, 11:10AM »
I recently had to fix up my pod filter because the piping used (i bought the car like it) had over time, moved and was kinking a little bit, which was causing it to suck in on itself and high revs and hence, lacking power. So anyways, i got home late from work, got working on it to just make so its better... Not perfect, but better. So, heres the result. (Very laughable)
The use of wire is... well... funny, lol.

Holy sh!t thats ghetto....

Why didn't you just put the pod filter where your induction box was before  ??? Would of thought that pipe would cause a little restriction too....
Try like this:

Ignore the bracket and the temp. sensor  ::)

Actually maybe move this guys post to the jokes and humour thread....

Unbalanced location means its getting air more direct from the front of the car.
Althou i would turn the battery and sit it flush with the inside of the fender as much as possible.
twist the MAF towards the dizzy, so its more straighter.

not bad for a cheap job

Omg have you considered a job as a butcher lol. Nah its not too bad for a short term fix.  You would find that you would get more power from crusiers way, the air has less distance to travel

Where you have your pod now is allowing it to suck hot air off the exhaust manifold.

Try and mount it where the air box was and use some sort of heat shield. Or better yet you could make up a pipe so you can have the pod in the front bumper. Noss did this and should be on the site somewhere.

Another option is the budget style using plumbers plastic piping instead and that too is on the site.

So just have a search around and you should be able to find something that helps.

haha. It was actually originally where the air box was but then i moved it down into the bumper, but then there was a kink in the hose, so for a quick fix i put it where it is now. Plan is to get a good filter put it where the original air box was, then cut a hole inside my wheel arch, leading up to the filter... not sure how thats gonna go as far as getting shit into the filter though.

Only one way to find out!

Haha. But yeah, it just a very temporary fix.
