Lower control arm bushes (LCA's)
« on: Nov 18, 2008, 08:35PM »
Ok, searched and come up blank.

My daily TRX's alignment is all shot to hell, but the LCA bushes are also fucked, so no point getting it aligned when its moving around on the stuffed bushes and knocking all the time over bumps.

Anyone here done them?  Ball-park cost of the bushes?  Need to be pressed in/out?  I have access to a hoist whenever I need it.

Any other details?  Cheers asshats.

Only the bushes that pivot on the mount at the very front of the LCA's need to be pressed/burnt out. The bushes at the rear will come off as soon as you remove the retaining bracket.

I hear you can knock them out using a hammer and the right size socket.

I pressed mine out, and they were in bloody tight!

Nah, nolathane. They come as a 2-piece bush with a steel centre crush tube.

Knock/press the old bush out, then slide one piece in from each end, and the crush tube through the middle.

I'd go urethane bushes every time. They'd be a similar price to genuine, but they're alot firmer and harder wearing.
