« on: Jul 8, 2006, 04:03PM »
I want to know where i put the RED and BLACK probes on the engine when i use the TACHO function, i also figure i would have it set on 4 CYL a friend suggested 8 CYL because of the duel spark system, can anyone tell me the correct settings please ?

It should be set on 4 Cyl. It should say in the manual where to plug the wires into. Also you need to take the signal from the low voltage side of the coil (the connector at the bottom).

thanks for that, the manual covers only "points" engines...pretty poor manual...

You can connect it across the + and - terminals of an ignition coil.

Yep.

Try one coil, and if the multimeter shows zero over a certain engine speed (3500rpm or something) then switch it over to the other coil.
