What is an amp rack ?

the only thing i can think of is a industrial equipment rack used for big rack amps/mixers etc.

ok after some quick google work i can gather that a car amp rack is just a sheet of wood that your amps are mounted to, some people all add in crossovers for spits to make it more fancy.
some can be panels that have hinges to swing down in order to change wiring etc. other racks can be hidden behind false panels so no one will know they are there.

that sounds very profitable you know. sell people amp racks for lots of money when really its just a sheet of mdf.
