Thanks guys. I think I have found a solution for those of us with the solid hub/strut combo, so Im going to do coilovers.
The Stance or similar S14 coils and these strut adaptors, its a weld on job but seems to be the best bet. I Will just need to drill that odd bolt on the front strut tower and make two for the rear. Note: The second pic is not from a u12, just for representation.
Although I'm not going with stance coilovers, going with a local So. Cal company. EDIT: Forgot to mention, you remove the strut tube from the rears. You would probably want to pick up some pieces from the junker so your have you stockers as backups.

installed front coils.Lowered it a 1.5" or 3.81cm .Just need to install the rears. and I think that contest was a scam, as it has now completely vanished. Wheels are 17x7 +42 BuddyClub P1 SF. After installing the rear Coils, I want to step up to 17x9 +25 wheels with a nice concave. Will probably be a month before the rears are installed though.

They are s14 fronts.

Did you end up having adequate clearance (ie 5+ mm) between the bottom of the shock body and the CV joint?

Had about 1cm. Once I hit the brackets clearance limit i'll have to droop the spring. Im just going I dont want to go that low

One last thing, did you have to elongate the holes in the body to use the s14 strut tops?

yeah you do. Its a pain in the ass to do since the metal is so thick, but at least you can tell you're not weakening the mount.
One thing to make notice of is the knuckle on our cars use a 12mm bolt while the s14 uses a 14mm. When bolted up there isn't any noticeable play but Im still going to buy larger bolts and bore them out to fit.

I'd do this and use a stepped washer instead of boring out the holes in the knuckle:

Much easier and will allow you to go back to a stock strut if necessary.

You may need to ask a machine shop to turn them up for.you out of stainless steel.

I figured as much after spending an hour searching for them to no avail.

There doesnt look to be enough clearance between the bottom of the strut and the cv joint. Can you get a more side on photo if possible?

Sure, I've driven these coils for 500 miles so far and feel safe enough with the clearance as that portion of the boot wont move anymore upward than in the pic. In all honesty, it would be safer with this type of bracket, one that extends down a bit. Also my coilovers are extremely short in comparison to others.

BC, tien super street and xyz are the same as the above image.
For less money and fucking around, I've used the the u13 Tokico struts on the front and purchasing the u13 sleeve kit which are high pound cold wound coils which will go straight on the front and rear as they use te same rear springs, it's easier and would be less harsh on daily driving.
I may do the full sleeve kit, than sell the front Tokico with adjustible springs to purchase the s14 front coilovers so my back ones would be sleeved aswel with no fucking around with the rear hub etc.

Seems like a good route. As for me I already have a full set new so might as well use it and the company that makes these is close enough for me to visit them to have work done if need be.
