« on: Feb 22, 2006, 12:14PM »
hey boys and girls, i'm just about ta get my remap (finally) but i am wondering if at stock boost or slightly raised to 2 or 3 psi would my standard nissan fuel pump be able to cope? Fuel shops say yes but seen as tho u guys have experienced this first hand i thought you's would know.
If it helps i have a larger front mount,3"exhaust and k & n filter but besides that all stock.
any help appreciated

it will hold up but will have a slightly noticeable loss of pressure occasionally, as in hesitation when you put the boot into it.

but would be worth the cash to get a new fuel pump, ie a bosch or the like, an intank one will do great

spoke to a guy today about a walbro pump and mentioned that i have heard quite a few story's about failures with these and he told me that post 89 nissans have voltage drops at idle and if the fuel pumps weren't rewired proberly that this voltage drop would kill any aftermarket pump.
he said check ur car at idle with a multimeter to see if this happens and go from there.
you's heard this before?

yeah i would believe the voltage drop coz my cuz's skyline and my car do this aswell, i didnt know it was bad for it so the U13 will do the same thing....... which is a pain in the neck...... so i will be looking into the voltage problems soon me thinks, dont want the pump to fail
