Hiya peeps,
Wondering if someone can help me out. I purchased this vehicle from the auctions and noticed that the head gasket was leaking. No big deal change the head gasket. Well silly me forgot to tie up the timing chain and i have reset the timing according the workshop manual but it still wont start :S
Anyways, i have uploaded a you tube video of it trying to start. Can i please get some help in trying to identify where to fix the issue?
Thanks
Oh it is a U12 Nissan Pintara with the CA20 engine

You probably know more about it than me, but a few guys have had this problem and their main cause was a broken AFM.. failing that, someone will have some input ;)

For starters 5 Seconds isnt going to help anyone diagnose the Issue. anyways the AFM has nothing to do with This.I would double check the Timing first. My answer would be check ur Distributor To see if Its At the Right angle and sending the Spark to the Spark plugs at the Right time cause it sounds like its not sparking at the right time and just not wonting to kick over.

Thanks for your reply.
I have checked the timing 4 times :S
I didn't want to risk trying to start it any longer as it may do some damage like a bent valve or something.
I have rotated the dizzy in a complete 260 and no different to the starting. It does not sound like a normal car trying to start. It sounds more like it is "free wheeling" There is good spark coming from the dizzy and from what i can tell, it is in the right firing order. The car was driving before i did the head gasket and i did not remove any of the leads from the dizzy when i pulled off the head just labelled the leads and put the leads back in the right place. We changed the spark plugs for brand new ones as the old ones were seized in there

Isn't the CA20 engine the twin spark plug engine?
If so, and not trying to be smart or anything, have both sets of plugs been inserted? The youtube clip sound like the engine free spinning with no compression?
