My Budget stereo.... :D
« on: Sep 24, 2004, 07:34PM »
Now some of you die hard car stereo nuts might not approve, but i just finished installing my stereo, and it cranks, sounds sharp and punchy with heaps of bass and all for under 400 bux...

The standard stereo was 6 speaker, 4x4' in doors run off the head unit and 2x6' in parcel shelf run by a tiny factory amp.
(all the below was bought new)

- jvc 4 series mp3 deck new $230... gotta love haggling!
- Audio force 120w 4' speakers to replace those in the rear doors (crackly) $20
- avalanche 3 way 250w 6x9s $48
- avalanche 2x150w amp to power 6x9s $59
- complete amp install and wiring kit $30
- installation $free, done by me and some mates

TOTAL - $387

the system sounds awesome, and im only running half gain and no super bass off the amp at the moment and its plenty for me, but has the potential for heaps more.
(oh and the 6 speaker setup gives it a real surround sound feel!)

just proud of myself, so thought id gloat hehe

cheers, Aj.
