U13 CHIPS!!!
« on: Feb 14, 2005, 06:00PM »
HEY u13 owners!
i was wondering how many of you would be interested in putting chips into your bluebirds? because i definitely am but noss wont make any individual chips as he needs to bulk buy the daughter boards. So if you may be interested in getting a chip for the Ka24de then please express any interest. If it goes ahead i would be glad to test the chip first in my car. Just a thought,
                                                                                                  Alex
(of course thats also only if noss says its ok  ;D)

its ok, i will do single chips now, but the boards will be slightly more expensive (at $100) because i'm sourcing the boards from another company, not getting them produced for antrx which i had originally hoped.

i just need one bit of equipment before i can start tuning the de chips though. i hope to have it purchased within a few weeks.

Hey all I am new to this forum but hey.
How many Kw gains would this chip give??? How would  it compare to other after-market chips such as uni chipa nd power chips. (besides cost)
But at the end of the day I would be interested.

Unichip's are fucking terrible IMO for a piggyback system, to get the thing tuned by a dealer costs a fortune.
Power chips are a rip off and simply advance timing.

I think this is definitely one of the times when you get a professional such as a VCR repairer etc, to install the chip for you :D

I was doing some research tonight for some other plans i've got, but i came across something really cool for you u13 guys. www.bikirom.com has daughterboards for the ka24de that has a usb port and allows you to upload your own roms onto it via a usb port.

Not a bad little unit considering everything you can do with it, if you know what you're doing of course.

Oh yeah, among other things it has a feature for flatshifting so you don't have to take your foot off the accelerator while changing gears (lowers the rev limiter) and it also has launch control! ;D

is this a fact or opinion?

i had a uni chip piggy back ecu in my old car and it was fantastic! would highlty reccomend them and would not hesitate getting another one....

How are you supposed to retune it if only specific dealers have the software and cable? Waste of money if you ask me.

A question for Noss.  On the topic of U13 chips, have you had any progress with the SR20DET ones for the Attesa's?  I'm keen to get one.  Let me know if there's anything I can do to assist.  Thanks.

you really need to have it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing, as with any aftermarket ecu!

A Unichip off memory has 204 points of tune on the air and fuel map and a further 204 points for ignition timing.

Basically if you want something with more ability than the unichip, you would have to look at Autronic or MoTeC and thats an expensive overkill I think that you'd agree. Microtech work well but still don't have as many load points as the Unichip.

Check out www.airpowersystems.com.au thats who sell and authorise Unichip dealers, they have a list on their site.

I just hate seeing people wasting good money because of bad reps things get by people who dont know the fine details!

we have had a breakthrough with acquiring the rom data so we can start tuning the roms, but will probably need test mules for them....

any of the guys that are in melbourne and can help,  we would like to get a hold of a SR20DET equiped U13 and a KA24DE equiped so we can get the standard maps from the ECU's.

any help would be appreciated guys, as we wanna help you guys out
