It is possible. The KA lovers on here will be able to show you some sites with cars that have had it done. Youd need to drop the compresion I'd imagine, so that would cost you a fair bit, and then there is the exhaust manifold, all the piping, you wouldnt not put an intercooler, and then the turbo itself. Id say youd be pushing to do it for under $2500, but someone on here may prove me wrong, there are a lot of knowledgable people on ANTRX. Maybe converting to a SR would be cheaper using an Attesa front cut, a lot less custom fabrication, it would probably all bolt straight in if you used the right parts of the front cut.

u could do basically a full set up for 3 grand... lets see

custom steam pipe manifold $500-700
s14 or gtir t28 + dump pipe $500 ish
modified sump $200
custom tune $400
intake pipe + pod $200
decent injectors $300
rb25det afm $200
FMIC + welding $500
bosch 040 fuel pump $300
boost gauge/turbo timer/boost controller $100-$1000

= 3,150 give or take

full 3 inch turbo back exhaust would be about another $800 ontop of that

as for dropping the compression i dont really think thats necescerry because the KA's already have quite low compression. The stock internals should be able to run 10 psi all day without too much trouble with compression, headgaskets, bottom ends
Noss you look like a cereal killer ;D

well not our fault that saantrx is gay as

I'm in the same boat as you brent.
Turboing the KA in my U12 will be the next step.

But remember, KA-T vs. SR:
Iron Block vs Aluminium Block
Torque Whore vs Hard Revving

Torque Whore + Hard Revving = WEAPON  ;D

My project should be going under way fairly soon so I'll keep you updated and let you know what's involved and the final product.

Keeping in mind, my project will cost a fair bit more due to me stripping its guts, re-building it from scratch with new everything, back to a brand spanking new engine, and then while it's out of the car, chucking on a few bits and pieces - Big Turbo, Custom FMIC, Custom Air Intake etc.

Good luck anyway, hopefully we can join the KA-T crew soon enough.  :P

I think he said that you wouldn't not want an intercooler - it's a double negative, so he's saying you'd be crazy not having an intercooler  :)

full 3 inch turbo back exhaust would be about another $800 ontop of that

-Bosch 040's are around the $200 mark, less if you hunt the forums/ebay
-Also a sump wouldn't cost $200 if you did it yourself, just drill the existing one with a greasy drill bit, drain the oil and weld it. no need to even take it off.
-rb25 afm isn't a necessity to get a working setup. mine will only be using the stocko, no doubt an upgrade will be required to up the power.

so that'd make it $2850. there will be other ways to save a bit of cost along the way too. but don't expect those to be the only costs, you gotta account for shit that can go wrong etc.

ok i'm sure its been discussed before, but turbo for the DE is quite reasonable.  The compression is stock at 8:1 so perfect for turbo applications, especially with the iron block.

Plenty of ebay options from the US,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ka24de-s13-s14-240sx-t25-turbo-charger-elbow-manifold_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ002QQitemZ120111600348QQrdZ1
however i doubt the quality of the turbo, but would still be alright for mild applications I would imagine.  but the dollar is good at the moment, so its worth consideration.

There are also kits with coolers and piping, but you might as well just get that here.  $3k is about the price to expect, as XXXX said.

Thats for a RWD setup, it wouldnt bolt straight in, try looking for stuff for a Altima, thats what they call the U13 in the US.

You will need a metal head gasket, if your boosting! You can get them off ebay for about $100! Theres some good complete turbo setups on there but really the only thing u really need is the manifold, it would cost maybe $170 atm and the rest you could source cheaply here.

the stock headgaksets have held up well on both my ka24e + t motors. but having said that i've jynxed it and mine will probably shit itself now.
