U12 STARTER MOTOR COMPATIBILITY
« on: Jul 15, 2009, 05:53PM »
Will a starter motor from a ka24e fit a ca20 motor??? My starter in the ca20 is screwed and im hoping (fingers crossed) the starter from my ka24e will fit for the time being so I can still get to work until I can replace it or have it reconditioned.

They might, but im not sure! i know the KA24E and DE starter motors are different and the E wont go into the DE because of the low mounted plenum

I know for a fact that R31 and U12 CA20 starter motors aren't interchangeable if that helps any.

i'll have to remember that for next time. I went to the wrecker and he swore black blue and sideways that the starter motor came from a 'Rear Wheel Drive' Pintara, despite the chassis code being a U12 one.

The disadvantage of needing it done on somethingorother eve. I can't remember if it was Christmas Eve or New Year's.
