« on: Oct 6, 2005, 09:51PM »
could it be that I have finally found a site dedicated to imported u13 bluebirds.
I cant beleive it.
Is this the place where i can share info on the sr20det awd turbo stealth bomber.
Not many of these cars in Melbourne.
Where are all you guys situated.

Well this is the place that has them. There are 2 guys in QLD that i know of that have the Attesa's.

Most others have the Aus U13 and U12's, some U12 even have SR20DET FWD conversions.

But you sure can share you're knowledge here.

The search button is you're friend.

Hmm, site started out more for locally delivered/built U12 Pintaras I believe, but antrx's focus accomodates all U12/U13s, atleast it seems that way :) So go introduce yourself + car in the n00bs forum, tag along to a few cruises, share and learn :)

The U13 section is growing fast however :)

For info on our Melbourne/Vic members, look here- http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?topic=2462.0;all

You could have brought your U13 to the antrx dyno day we had in Melb a month or so back.  There where 3 ATTESA's there (two U12's, one a CA the other SR) and one U13 auto.

But yeah, welcome to antrx bluebird!

First of all let me say to Loop that R31's are also cool, aspecially 2 door turbos from Japan.
I came so close to importing one about 3 months ago but when you have a wife and kids nothing is easy.
Also to Budgie, dyno day would have been good.
What suburb was it held at and what power figures did the guys get.
My u13 attessa was dyno tuned about 3 months ago pulling 172 kw at all 4 wheels.
Have a few more things to try before next dyno.
See how we go.

Hugh and I are looking to dyno our U12's again in the coming months.  Maybe we could go in a group?  Who knows!

Shit!  What kind of mods are you running mate?

Hugh's U12 ATTESA (HNU12) pulled 145kw @ all four.

Mods being a FMIC, 11psi, T25G rebuilt to T28 specs (almost), 3" exhaust and heat sheild CAI/pod setup

172kw @ all four is impressive.  Hows the gearbox holding up? ;)

damn man 172kw's is fucking awesome. i would like to see your list of mods to find out if my dyno figure was good with the mods or whether it should be different.

but as budgie said we will be getting our cars dyno'd again soon to get some more figures for the basis of more tuning so if you wanna join us feel free.
also some pic's would be great too, pics fo the blueys are always good value no matter what they are doing!!

I have to say that NISMO_31 has a cool looking r31.
Thats the exact type I was looking at and in white also.
Something about those r31 2 doors, ever since I watched skaife race them 15 years ago.
I think it was skaife. May have been Glen Seton not sure. I used to watch them race in the DR30 also.
Anyway getting back to my car.
I also thought 172kw was pretty high. Sometimes doesnt feel like that but I have got in front of an xr6 turbo twice in the
last month from standing start up to about 125kmh where I shut it down and let him pass.
He was pissed let me tell you. He had no idea what the u13 stealth bomber was.
I suppose thats the advantage of having the car look dead stock.
I havent got the balls to go past 130kmph anymore since I lost my license a few years ago. (that killed me)
So now I just love doing 0-120kmph sprints. Keeps me happy for now.
Anyway most of my mods are listed below

t28 hi flow turbo
AVO intercooler
EMS computer
GFB atomic boost controller set to 15PSI
AVO pod filter with custom piping
2.5 inch mandrel from turbo back

I think gear box can handle 180kw but thats about it.
Its not driven very hard and wife normally has it so it should hold up.
At the moment I am more interested in getting more torque out of the motor rather than power.
Have some ideas.
Hopefully next 4 to 6 weeks will be ready for another dyno.

gees thats a nice list, i am really stoked now that what i have done to my car is outstanding. just coz mine is making about 25kw's less, could make that up pretty easily with the full programmable ECU and 4 more psi, this is wicked, how much do we reckon it would have at the Fly with that power at the wheels?? hmm

Well I think in my case that 172kw at the wheels worked out to just under 300hp at the flywheel.
One thing to remember when quoting power figures, the car with the big peak kilowatt reading is not always the fastest.
big horsepower is one thing but its more important on how exactly the power is delivered.
Its not much good for a street car that has mega horsepower if nothing happens until you reach 6000rpm for example.
When you get a dyno read  the graph carefully and see where you make your power and torque and how soon it comes on.
Take my u13 for example. Before I had the turbo hiflowed decent boost used to come in about 3000rpm.
Since the bigger compressotr wheel was fitted good boost is not acheived until 4000rpm.
Low end response has suffered a bit. Your driving habits have to change slightly to get maximum acceleration.
But once i am in the power band and the new compressor wheel is up to speed she will continue to acclerate right up to 6600rpm
where my peak power of 172kw was recorded.
My aim now is to improve low end response and get boost coming on earlier.
I have some ideas and will be playing with the cold air intake and boost controller.
Ultimately if i did some cam work the torque would increase greatly and the car would be awsome but at this stage thats down the track.
see how we go.

Increasing average torque at the wheels over the time of acceleration is the goal. T28 hi flow spool well, much like the t25g on there prior?

funny you say this, with the high flowed t25 i have it comes on boost pretty early and still puts down decent power at about 3300rpm, check out the power curve here:

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?topic=4804.225

in these power runs it didnt even get close to 7000rpm, with the way it was headed it coulda made over the 150kw mark, if only i had the torque curve too coz that would be interesting to see where all the torque is.....

will be dynoing the car again soon coz of a new installation that i just finished so wil have a new figure to show
