Having a bit of trouble starting the pintara.

It starts ok, but after maybe 10 secs or so after its started the fuel pump fuse blows and it stalls. Does the same on LPG as well.

If I just crank it and it doesn't start completely the fuse is still good.

I have replaced the fuel pump relay and the computer and still have the same problem.

Can anyone help?
nothing.

Do you have a spare fuel pump you can swap in? Sounds like it's shorting internally if it isn't shorting anywhere else.

:) i think its overload tripped by a faulty pump too...

but just for laughs and giggles...
to test it .....
get to the 2 wires at the pump end with or without a pump and use any
12v with some drain...on it like 10amps or more like spot light..2 is better
and leaving the wires where they are except remove from pump and place dconnected to spot lights and turn on car...
if spots run and dont blow....
you ruled on 2 things....1) faulty pump....2) wires in the harness earthing out somewhere
try not to mess the lay of the wires when doin this so you can find the real problem...

:)

Took me a while to get around to testing it again, but it ended up being the fuel pump.
As it was on lpg I disconnected the connector under the seat for the fuel pump, and switched over a relay as well for the hell of it.
Took a little while to start on gas but it runs perfect again, no more blown fuses ( I think I have gone through about 20 of the buggers)

Real easy solution really, it just took me a lot of time to think of it.
nothing.
