RE: A sad day.
« on: Nov 27, 2007, 03:31PM »
Well the time has come for me to move on to bigger/better things, this is my last post a a nsw resident and a normal looking person. On thrsday night 'bout 8pm I leave for Plainland QLD, the drive will take between 14 and 15 hrs as we are taking 3 cats and a dog in my car (corsair) and 4 dogs and a snake it dad's car (mazda tribute). It has been a very stressful and somewhat rushed sale. Our house was advertised on a wednesday and sold the following monday.
The new house is on two acres of fairly flat grass, with plenty of room for a spare car or two for parts. My only concern is I've heard that people from the ipswich area grow two heads over time, is there a cure fo this............  ???, our neighbours  are apparently real hillbilly's, one of the kids name's is apparently skeeter, I am unsure whether this is true though.
Looking forward to meeting some QLD antrx'ers and getting on a cruise with a few people to show me around within a month or so of being up there.

Next time I am on/post, I will be a QLD'er............ :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(.

QLD sucks. You cant modify anything any vehicle. NSW lets you get 35's, 6 inch lifts etc engineered. QLD wont let you do anything.

Stick to NSW Langers.
Your car may be able to go faster.
But I can go any where. except into a garage, underground carpark, bridge...

2 sticks and manual locking hubs. have to get out to drive it around

I was in Brisbane years ago and I liked it up there .. Not that I saw a huge amount of it, but nonetheless.

If I understand right Ipswitch is basically the equilivant of the druitt area here. But then again sydney has lots of 'crap' areas each distinguished by the varying races that tend to congegrate in those areas. But that's another story.

Atleast you'll get to go on a cruise haha

there was a girl i was having a bit of a chat to once, she didn't really have much of any interest to say, but the conversation got on to how she hates brisbane so much, i asked her where she was from 'oh yeh sydney, the best city in the country' righto i thought.. so i asked her why she moved here then if sydney is so great 'oh yeh because its really cheap and its close to the gold coast' hrmm i hrmm'd.. i wonder if she realises its not exactly cheap since everyone moved here? i wanted to explain.. but.. i just quietly picked up my drink and walked away.

I remember when i first got my licence and regular unleaded fuel was in the 50c's. It was a shock when it hit 60c. And that was back when my car wasn't too fussy with fuel and took the cheapo regular crap.

Jeez use QLDers have got it hard with NSW taxes making QLD get cheaper fuel. What a fucking joke that is.

link us oh intelligent dave to a reputable news article (even a scan from a real paper will do) that says that your nsw tax goes to the qld fuel excise.. i have searched for ages to follow up your claim and i find sweet fuck all.

Well here I am, I made it to QLD, took 16 hrs from western Sydney as we had to stop for dogs to go toilet and warm the pet snake back up. The corsair didn't miss a beat, I had the air con on the whole trip and averaged about 570kms to a tank, fuel all up cost me $90 witch I thought was reasonable. Anyway, the house is huge, two acres is bigger than I thought and it is so quiet you can hear my car coming when I am on the Laidley-Plainland Rd witch is about 3 mins away. Just have to finish unpacking and then I will be out exploring my new habitat. From what I have seen I have to say I think I like QLD better than NSW, although I haven't been to Ipswich or Toowoomba yet, going there tomorrow or Wednesday I think, dosn't mean I will be going for QLD in the Stae of Origin though. The area is not suited to lowered corsair's and I keep scraping on things i.e steep driveway's in laidley, I think I will get a nissan X-trail, Suburu Forester turbo model or a Mazda tribute (dad has one and the are nice to drive, far bit of ground clearance and not to big) all depends on what I can afford.

nah its not that cheap, its about 128 atm,

At the Rusty's servo just of the Warrego Highway and the servo in Laidley it is about $1.35c for standard

It is my brother's snake, it is a spotted python, about 1mtr long. He can only go 24hrs without being in his heated tank. He has to be kept at a bout 30 degree's all year round. We kept him on a hot water bottle and put fresh hot water in it every hour or so.
