looking for a way to tint head/tail lights
-
A cheap way to do it is: Someplaces like scott's auto one sell smoke paint. You spray it on to give a smoked len's appearance. Not sure how it would work on red lenses though. ???
Why do you want tinted headlights, isn't it illegal.

yup but the spray on window tint (god help anyone that uses that on thier windows) you need to laquer it on to get a good finish, but it actually comes out shiny if you do it right.
Alternatively goto supercheap and see if you can pick up a can of nightshade, actually intended for head/tail lights. you could probably pick some up off ebay if supercheap doesn't sell it anymore.

I tinted my rear lights using that nightshades stuff. to get a shiny finish take the lenses out and spray them on the inside. i did mine on the outside because the lights are cracked and didnt want to pull them apart and it sorta finshed up more of a matt black.

If you tint your headlights they'll heat up heaps with your lights on, the tinting absorbs light and gives it off as heat. They'll also be alot darker at night.
Probably not the best idea for safety reasons.
