oil catch can
« on: Sep 20, 2006, 09:13PM »
hey guys.
i've recently purchased an oil catch can and am lookin to install it. just wondering, there is a little black box on the side of the engine (i assume its the oil seperator) basically all im looking to find out really is if i can by pass it or if i need it. If i can remoce it would it be safe to mount the catch can in place of the oil sep. Or if it is the oil seperator will there be any benefit in keepin it as well as the catch can.

Any help would be muchly appreciated
Brendan

I believe it's an oil separator like you said, and I wouldn't remove it because it helps to keep your engine oil in the sump, where it belongs.
