3rd Break Light
« on: Sep 20, 2009, 04:27PM »
So i just got offered an aftermarket wing for my bluebird that I couldnt pass up, $50 and its a pretty good looking wing, the problem im faced with now is my third brake light, if i replace the stock wing i will no longer have a third brake light which = defect. So now i need to find a way to install a third brake light elsewhere, any suggestions? Has anypne else dont this does anyone sell third brake lights for bluebirds without wings?

get a stick on one from a wrecker (rectangle that sits on the parcel shelf) and mount it inside the rear window at the top?

Is that stock bluebird or just anything?

just about anything, they're flat rectangular and stick on to the back window.

the u13 LX's have a parcel shelf brake light (no spoiler). Maybe try and track one down?

I had considered that but the SSS's had rear windscreen washers sp i'd then have to get a new windscreen, which is a good option bcoz my back wiper doesn't work haha but it would take a lot of work

Of course! Didn't think about that. I guess a random one from the wreckers is the go then.

u12 hatchbacks have a highmount brake light if you wanted to keep it in the family?

Later model R31's had the high mount stop light as well - that's where I'm basing my info from.

apparently there arent any U13 rear windscreens left in australia.
Shannons told me " windscreen obriens  says you got the last one in australia and its coming from brisbane".

If the lights visble with the spoiler installed then you should be fine
