The little plastic holder catch thingamy that holds the bonnet strut when not in use just above the battery in my N13 pulsar broke a long time ago. Even since, the strut has just been sitting on top of the negative lead from the battery. It strikes me that this arrangement is somewhat less than ideal. Now that the car is really running very well and reliably having recently had the brakes all sorted both ends, some oil leaks fixed around the dizzy shaft and cam box gasket and had new wider 175 tyres fitted to the front, I thought it would be nice to fix this minor annoyance as well.
Does anyone know the part number of the plastic hook catch in question? I figure it will be a waste of time searching wreckers for one. For sure all the cars in wreckers will have it broken too or if not then it will be so brittle by now that it will break the first time I use it.
