tyre size
« on: Jan 8, 2006, 08:18AM »
hey all, currently i have some stock trx alloys on my corsair, now the tyre size is 195/65R14, and ive got some brand new 185/70R14 sitting out the back from when i got the car, due to swapping them with my old trx wheels. just wondering if i am able to put the brand new ones on cos the other ones are wearing out??
cheers guys

do you mean 'am i able to put them on myself' because the answer would be no. pay a tyre bloke a few $ and they can sort that out. if you are referring to tyre size, 185/70r14 will fit (i had them on my car when i got it) and won't bugger your speedo up. the tyre placard for the u12 says 195/65r14.

Your speedo would show 1km/h less than what you are doing. I'd check with a tire shop to make sure that they fit on the 6" TRX rims.

Will fit fine, my car originally came with 175/70/14 (lol) on the front wheels on stock trx rims.

Yep, they'll fit, 175/75R14 came on 5.5" wide rims on GLi and Executive Pintaras.

Your rims are 12.5 mm wider and your tyres are 10mm wider so there's bugger all difference in tyre stretch.
