Removing Tacho and speedo needles

anyone know how to remove the tacho and speedo needles on a u13 bluebird?

yea my mate had the same problem on his TX-5... he got new dials and could only change the oil and fuel gauges coz the needles from the speedo and tacho would come off... is there a special tool or method to get them off??

DJ_Jonb, i noticed in your TRX you have blue needles... perhaps u would know??
I'm sick of my knob going all floppy and loose in my hand  :P

I found stubborn needles come off best if you put a flathead screwdriver under them (between the needle base and guage face, in a parallel fashion) Then, twist the screwdriver 90deg to gently force it upward.

Easier than using your fingers or anything, thats just putting a lot of squeezing force on a delicate part. This method pushes the needles in the direction they need to go - up :)

Takes mere seconds, very little risk of damaging anything, and makes it surprisingly easy. Let us know how it goes.

just make sure you apply the force "straight" and yooull be right
